Master Rummy – 13-Card Indian Rummy App

Master Rummy is the 13-card Indian Rummy game played with two decks and printed jokers. You draw, you discard, and you race to arrange all thirteen cards into valid sequences and sets before anyone else declares. It is the most skill-heavy game in the app: memory, discard reading and knowing when to drop matter more than the cards you are dealt. Master Games offers Points, Pool and Deals Rummy at stakes from a few rupees upwards, with two-player and six-player tables and a 30-second turn timer to keep games moving.

How to play Master Rummy

  1. Each player receives 13 cards. One card is placed face up to start the discard pile and a wild joker is drawn at random.
  2. On your turn, pick one card from the closed deck or the open discard pile, then discard one card.
  3. To declare, you need at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence (no joker). The rest of your cards must form sequences or sets.
  4. A sequence is three or more consecutive cards of one suit; a set is three or four cards of the same rank in different suits.
  5. Place a final discard on the finish slot and declare. An invalid declaration costs the full 80 points.

Master Rummy variants

Points Rummy

One deal. Each point has a rupee value; the winner takes the sum of everyone's deadwood points.

Pool Rummy (101 / 201)

Multiple deals. Players are eliminated when their total reaches 101 or 201 points.

Deals Rummy

A fixed number of deals (2 or 3) with chips instead of points. Most chips at the end wins.

Tips from the tables

  • Build the pure sequence first. Until you have one, every other card in your hand is at risk.
  • Discard high cards you cannot use early — a lone king costs 10 points if someone declares.
  • Track what opponents pick from the open pile; it tells you which sequences they are building.
  • Drop in the first turn if your hand has no joker and no near-sequence. The first-drop penalty is small compared to 80 points.

Tables, stakes and timers

Master Rummy runs two-player and six-player tables for every variant. Points Rummy tables are listed by point value from ₹0.05 to ₹5 a point, so a ₹0.10 table can cost at most ₹8 on a full 80-point loss; Pool and Deals tables show their entry fee on the lobby card. Every table has a 30-second turn timer with three extra-time allowances per game, and a player who disconnects is auto-played for two turns before being dropped with the mid-game penalty. The platform fee is taken only from the winning pot and is printed on the table card before you sit down.

How fairness works in Master Rummy

Both decks are shuffled by the certified random number generator for every deal, and the wild joker is drawn from that same shuffle, not chosen by the server afterwards. Every hand is stored for 90 days and can be replayed card by card from the history tab. A disputed declaration is checked by the game integrity team against that record, and the result of the review is sent to both players in the app.

Common mistakes

  • Holding a near-sequence for too many turns. If the card you need has already been discarded twice, break the group up and rebuild.
  • Slipping a joker into your only sequence out of habit. That makes it impure, and a hand without a pure sequence is an invalid declare.
  • Ignoring the deadwood count. Three unmatched low cards cost less than one unmatched king, so discard picture cards first.
  • Declaring without looking at the highlights. The app marks invalid groups in red before you confirm; a wrong declare still costs 80 points.

Master Rummy glossary

Drop
Leaving a deal instead of playing it out: 20 points before your first pick, 40 points afterwards, always less than the 80-point maximum.
Wild joker
The rank drawn at the start of a deal. All four cards of that rank act as jokers alongside the two printed jokers.
Meld
A valid sequence or set laid down at declaration. Thirteen cards need at least four melds in total.
Deadwood
Cards that are not part of any meld. Their face values, with picture cards and aces at 10, are your penalty.
Show
Placing the final discard on the finish slot and presenting the hand for validation.
